Aerial Policy
**** Please Read ****

We are asking that no one perform aerials at Swing Cats' dances. We understand aerials can be fun, and we have all seen how cool they look, especially on TV, in commercials, and possibly even on YouTube. But the fact is that Aerials are Dangerous.

Not just for the couple performing them, but also for any other dancers on the floor. In a social dance setting, nobody should have to worry about women falling from the air and landing on them or feet suddenly flying in ones face. The only exception to this are Jams and Performances. If you do not know the difference between a Jam and Social dancing, then it's best to err on the side of caution and Not Do Aerials.

In addition, there should be no teaching of aerials while at swing cats. Anything short of Professional experience or training means that you are not likely to be qualified. Just because you saw it on TV does not mean you should attempt to duplicate it. An aerial is more than just throwing your partner around, they require a fundamental understanding of the forces involved, and more importantly, the consequences.

If you are interested in learning aerials, please contact one of the swing cats officers directly so that we can guide you on how to learn them properly.

REMEMBER: NO AERIALS ON A SOCIAL FLOOR~ JAMS AND PERFORMANCES ONLY.
Any Questions regarding this rule should be directed to the host of your dance.
Performing aerials means you hold only yourself responsible for the consequences.
